In October of 2011, Pastor Tim and Nadine Rust founded Destiny Church in a house with the dream of Destiny being a church filled with heartfelt praise and worship that touches heaven and changes earth. A church that is so dependent on the Holy Spirit that nothing will stop it nor stand against it. A church whose people are unified, praying, and full of the Holy Spirit. A church where people can feel the presence of the Holy Spirit as they drive by and walk through the front doors.
After a few months, the congregation outgrew the house and moved to the Border's Hotel. However, members expressed the need for a dedicated building to host services and engage with the community. In 2012, a coffee shop was acquired and converted into a gathering place for Destiny members. As the congregation grew, it became evident that a larger space was required, so service was held at the YWCA. Consequently, Destiny purchased a mechanic shop on October 31, 2016. With the assistance of numerous volunteers, construction was completed by March 2017. The first official service at Destiny's current location - 4306 W HWY 30, Grand Island, Nebraska - was held April 16, 2017.
